How to Configure Brand System-Generated Links
With our API domains (Branded Domains), you can brand your HeyClients system-generated links to represent a chosen domain. We highly recommend adding your API domain to increase deliverability and brand recognition when sending out links.

Setting a custom API subdomain updates the subdomain shown in the direct links that are generated for:
- Forms
- Quizzes
- Surveys
- Invoices
- Receipts
- Shortlinks
- Estimates
- Trigger Links
- Payment Links
- Calendar Links
- Payment Update Links
- Documents & Contracts
- Embed Codes (for calendars, forms, surveys, quizzes)
Important Note: You need to make sure that you are using a subdomain or a domain that is not being used elsewhere. This should be a unique subdomain that is not used for any other purpose. Please DO NOT enter your root domain that is used in Funnels and Websites as it cannot be used in both places.
Using the heyclients.io domain as an example:
- I cannot enter the root domain (heyclients.io), since this would result in an error.
- I cannot enter the "www" subdomain (WWW.heyclients.io), since this would also result in an error.
- I would need to enter a unique subdomain like Links.heyclients.io.
Setting Branded Domain for Domains Purchased within HeyClients
The video above shows the process for domains purchased within HeyClients. The process is very similar for domains purchased outside of HeyClients, you will just need to add the DNS record to your registrar. The next section describes this process specifically.
- Go to Settings -> Business Profile and scroll to the Branded Domain field.
- Enter the subdomain you want HeyClients to use when creating links (something like links.heyclients.io but replacing the HeyClients with your domain.)
- Within the popup that appears, select Continue.
- The next screen you will see says that your domain is already authorized because it was purchased in HeyClients. Select Add Records.
- Wait for the records to be added. This can take up to 1 minute. Once the records have been added, the screen will revert back to the Business Information and show the Branded Domain grayed out and have a Modify and trash can button next to it.
- IMPORTANT: Scroll to the bottom of Settings > Business Profile section and click the "Update Information" button to save your changes.
Setting Branded Domain for Domains Purchased Outside of HeyClients
- Go to Settings -> Business Profile and scroll to the Branded Domain field.
- Enter the subdomain you want HeyClients to use when creating links (something like links.heyclients.io but replacing the HeyClients with your domain.)
- Click the "Add Domain" button.
- Within the popup that appears, select Continue.
- The next screen you will see will list your domain registrar and ask you to Authorize the domain.
- A separate page will open with Cloudflare and ask you to login if needed. Once you are logged in, it will show you the record to be added. Click Authorize to add the record.
- If you need to create the CNAME manually:
- Go to your domain registrar and create a CNAME record in your DNS settings for (using the example above) 'links' that points to brand.ludicrous.cloud
- Wait for the records to be added. This can take up to 1 minute. Once the records have been added, the screen will revert back to the Business Information and show the Branded Domain grayed out and have a Modify and trash can button next to it.
- IMPORTANT: Scroll to the bottom of Settings > Business Profile section and click the "Update Information" button to save your changes.
